Healing Our Childhood Separation Wounds
Do you find that you often feel like you don't belong?
Or that it's difficult to talk about feelings?
These difficulties are often the result of childhood experiences.
Join John Britton and me to find out more about the impact of childhood loss and separation on the way we function in adult relationships, and how we heal.
Join us for this webinar on October 30th where we will be talking about how we can heal the pain of childhood loss. The pain of abandonment very often shows up later in life as an overwhelming fear of rejection and abandonment.
For John and me, boarding school meant not just the loss of our families, but also pets, favourite toys and our childhood. In order to survive boarding school we created a 'strategic survival personality' which continued to influence and direct our behaviour well into adult life.
Boarding school is just one example of childhood loss. And we've come to understand that our responses to the fear and pain we felt at school is shared by others.
If you experienced abandonment, loss or separation as a child, there will be something for you in this webinar.
When we are faced with loss, separation or frightening circumstances as children, we develop coping strategies to protect us and keep us safe.
Unfortunately while those coping strategies may serve us well in childhood, they let us down later in life, particularly when we bring them into relationships.
John and I have both learned the value of mining present day fears to explore and understand the hidden patterns which we brought with us from the need to survive a frightening and lonely childhood in boarding school. In this webinar we'll share with you what we've learned so that you can apply it in your own life.
Sorrel is a trauma-informed, relationship and well-being coach. She works with people who are experiencing mental health problems, as well as those who have hit a road-block in their relationships.
Sorrel practiced as an osteopath for 20 years from 2002. During this time she worked with hundreds of people who had experienced childhood trauma, leading to severe mental & physical health problems later in life.
She started her coach training in 2017 qualifying as a 3 Principles coach and a One of Many™ women's coach, bringing a more female approach to coaching.
During those last six years she realised that there is much to be gained by taking account of our spiritual nature - or what many of us call 'true nature.' This is the source of the creativity & compassion which enables us to heal from the inside-out.
